A biblical mother (mary)

You loved different,but strong.
You told me my rights
From my wrongs.
So when I got the message
That you left
I laid on the floor and so many tears I cried.
The spunky soul and right to the point
Beautiful being had died.

And I remember sitting at the table.
Playing cards or watching a story or two.
And the first time I hit a number
That energy was you.

I remember walks to the store
And you’d say “temarie”
And I’d put up what I wanted
On the counter
And you’d get it for me.

I watched you battle cancer
Like only a badass could
Never letting it stop you
Never letting it bring you low.
They don’t make super hero’s
Like you anymore.

You always told me,
” what goes up must come down”
” what’s done in dark, in light will be found.”

And I never will forget
When I graduated with
My associate degree.
When they called my name
And I walked across that stage
You lit that whole room up for me.

Even from heaven, you were letting me know,
That you were proud and always had my back.
I promise you grandma,
I’ll never forget that.

You never bit your tongue
And you never were afraid
I miss you, I miss that
Everyday.

A biblical mother to birth a
Special son.
One of the most important names for a girl
Is Mary,
My grandma, my strength,
My hero, and my world.
